Australia Post

I ordered a lovely collectors edition of Diablo 3, mainly because I have a shelf sitting above my computer desk that looks a little bare.
I collect many things, coins, limited items, expensive oddities and the latest being a bust of Geralt de Rivia and a statuette of Darth Malgus.
I plan to add to this collection of gaming, the next to be the Diablo 3 little thingie, then the new Assassin from Assassin’s Creed 3.

However! I ordered said CE from MightyApe. I normally order off Amazon or other cheaper variations, however I’d be only saving $1 or so, add in currency conversion + the 5% fee banks charge for said conversion.
So I buy it from an online Australian retailer. Add the $3 postage price, and there we go.

It being posted on the 14th of May, I expect it no later than maybe Monday the 21st. What I don’t expect however, is absolutely NO SCANS since the day it was posted. I mean seriously, if I ordered it off the USA, it’d be here, given the 1 day it takes to fly from PA all the way to Hawaii and then down to Newcastle and delivered to my door by say Friday or Thursday. All the while having scans in transit, at the depos and what not.

I ring them up, they also have no data as to where in Australia it is. This is terrible. No hate on MightyApe, they’re a great company, but please allow Express Postage, that way we can know where it is, and get it within a guaranteed 2 business days. For a game with as much hype as Diablo 3, it may be worth it. If you can play it, that is.

By the time I get it, the errors and downtime and what not (touch wood) may have blown over.

That’s all for now. Skyrim and Game of Thrones awaits my very valuable time.

Coloured Radio Station Preachers.

I was driving home early Sunday morning through Bakersfield Listening to gospel music on the coloured radio station And the preacher said, "You know you always have the Lord by your side" And I was so pleased to be informed of this that I ran Twenty red lights in his honor Thank you Jesus, thank you Lord.

So Um… Yeh…

I’m not posting much because there really isn’t much to say. GOT S2, Borgias S2, Touch, OUAT, etc etc. They’re all very good shows.

But movies I’d like to watch:
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
Salmon Fishing In The Yemen

Anything else? Nothing that’s released. The Avengers is a possibility, but not on the list right now.

I just looked at the stats of this website. 3 VISITS THIS MONTH LOL. Hello Internet!

Once Upon A Time

American fantasy drama television series…
Basically, evil queen sends everyone to the future (StoryBrook) and apparently no one can leave.

I’ve watched about 16 episodes. And I seriously like it. BUUUUUT, I hope it doesn’t get soapy.

So…

I’ve been playing Skyrim religiously.

It’s the best. I’m also burnt out of SWTOR. It’s kinda shit now.

The Three Musketeers: shit.
The Rite: EXCELLENT.
Touch (TV): WOOO KIEFER.
Game of Thrones Season 2: FINALLY!
The Legend of Korra: about time. Decent for a kids show, but still, fills in the time between waiting for Touch and GOT S2 episodes to come out :)

What I suggest: get all of the above, except the three musketeers, and play Skyrim. Then maybe (perhaps) mod it to the point of no return, and profit from that.

Also, The Witcher 2 EE is now out on Xbox 360, and the patch has been released AND turned on for all PC owners of the game. You can also get a free digital backup copy of the game from GOG.com who happen to be a division of CD Projekt RED. Who possibly, is the best developer in the world. Not possibly, they ARE.

Midnight In Paris

A family travel to the French capital for business. The party includes a young engaged couple who are forced to confront their differing views of a perfect life.

Off to a slow start Midnight In Paris focuses on Owen Wilson who is an author, and loves all the old writers, singers, composers at what not of the 1920′s.
They’re in Paris, and his fiance is a bit of a reptile and wants to control him in to her evil ways (no fun).

I was going to turn it off until he got drunk and found himself on steps near a clock tower, which (you guessed it) strikes midnight and then that’s where the fun begins.

After that, it’s all terribly interesting with songs of love, bees, and meeting extremely influential people of that era like Picasso and Zelda.

I give it a solid 8/10 for creativity. It’s only an hour and a half long, and worth it, in my opinion.
Though to be honest, it’s a bit soft.

Hugo Movie Review

Based ona book, this is a children’s movie most likely. None-the-less I have seen it.

It’s about a young boy, Hugo played by the wonderfully talented Asa Butterfield, starring alongside Chloe Moretz.
You see him wind clocks, learn bits about his past, all the while in the present fixing a machine, an automaton or something.

This is basically where Chloe comes in to play, her father played by Sir Ben Kingsley has a connection to this machine, and it more or less does something that wakes Ben Kingsley up from his present day and makes him remember who he was – a great film maker.

I wont go into detail, but it’s set in the 1930′s, mainly in a train station in Paris. Asa plays an orphan who lives in said train stations walls. With a mystery involving his late father and this automaton.

Directed by Martin Scorsese

I give it a solid 8/10.

I’d like to see where Asa’s career leads him. Definitely an actor to watch out for in 2012.

SW:TOR And PVP

SWTOR made one huge mistake – stun locks.
The thing everyone hates, yet they add in in this game which is meant to be fresh.

Don’t get me started on how one side always wins.

Sherlock

While playing games, I also like watching TV.

I recently read somewhere, I wont quote where, because I don’t know where I read it. But take my work that I did read it.
Why does the UK copy everything the US does?

Now, the amount of comments was staggering. While I’m sure both parties have copied the other in some way or another. But either way I will list what I do know:
The Office UK. USA copied it with their own version.
Kath and Kim Australia. USA copied it (I think).
Skins UK. USA copied it, and it ran for 1 season, then flopped.
The Weakest Link UK. USA copied it.
Probably more.
Now Sherlock is being copied by the USA. Which mind you is probably a bad idea. Sherlock is purely British. The USA could not possibly copy an even decent version.
Series 2 of Sherlock just concluded, and there’s going to be a season 3 in 2013, or sooner. Both lead actors play movie roles which will probably justify them doing  Sherlock later.

And there you have it.

Now on to more pressing matters.
Sherlock series 1 – 10/10
Series 2 – 10/10
Probably the best “crime” shows I’ll ever watch. I’m seriously grumpy about cop, crime and detective shows. I’m sick of them. But this isn’t the only genre it falls into, there’s more, which I wont list.

It’s an excellent show, worth your time, and a spot on your shelf where you hopefully have Rome Season 1 and 2, as well as Game of Thrones next to it.

On Australian Prices And Shit

The only reason I’m posting here is because SW:ToR is down until about 1 and a half hours from now.
Oh BTW, review on SW:ToR to come. Until then your appetite is sated with “It’s Good”.

So anyway, Harvey has finally got with the times and is now offering games for a cheaper price, online only. Directly imported from the UK probably, but either way, it’s a whole lot better than retail.
Skyrim for $59, Deus Ex: Human Revolution for $26, and Battlefield 3 for $62. With a flat fee per game postage of something like $3.

Some prices are not better than OzGameShop, some might be, I honestly don’t care right now because I’m wallowing in the depression that is Internode got bought out by iiNet.

So Harveys fancy new slightly better priced website is super long and is is is: http://www.harveynormandirectimport.com/

And just for shits and giggles OzGameshop is: www.ozgameshop.com

Personally, I buy from whatever is the cheapest. Zavvi, Play-Asia, OzGameshop, whatever. Usually the shipping takes a long time. But at least you save yourself money. Play-Asia fortunately has choices, I usually ship via FedEx, and still save myself a healthy amount. In the process, Play-Asia gives you coupons with literally (really) every order for $5 off. Last time I got a sticker. Yes it’s awesome.

So there you have it. A shitty article, in my usual style.
