Sherlock

While playing games, I also like watching TV.

I recently read somewhere, I wont quote where, because I don’t know where I read it. But take my work that I did read it.
Why does the UK copy everything the US does?

Now, the amount of comments was staggering. While I’m sure both parties have copied the other in some way or another. But either way I will list what I do know:
The Office UK. USA copied it with their own version.
Kath and Kim Australia. USA copied it (I think).
Skins UK. USA copied it, and it ran for 1 season, then flopped.
The Weakest Link UK. USA copied it.
Probably more.
Now Sherlock is being copied by the USA. Which mind you is probably a bad idea. Sherlock is purely British. The USA could not possibly copy an even decent version.
Series 2 of Sherlock just concluded, and there’s going to be a season 3 in 2013, or sooner. Both lead actors play movie roles which will probably justify them doing  Sherlock later.

And there you have it.

Now on to more pressing matters.
Sherlock series 1 – 10/10
Series 2 – 10/10
Probably the best “crime” shows I’ll ever watch. I’m seriously grumpy about cop, crime and detective shows. I’m sick of them. But this isn’t the only genre it falls into, there’s more, which I wont list.

It’s an excellent show, worth your time, and a spot on your shelf where you hopefully have Rome Season 1 and 2, as well as Game of Thrones next to it.

On Australian Prices And Shit

The only reason I’m posting here is because SW:ToR is down until about 1 and a half hours from now.
Oh BTW, review on SW:ToR to come. Until then your appetite is sated with “It’s Good”.

So anyway, Harvey has finally got with the times and is now offering games for a cheaper price, online only. Directly imported from the UK probably, but either way, it’s a whole lot better than retail.
Skyrim for $59, Deus Ex: Human Revolution for $26, and Battlefield 3 for $62. With a flat fee per game postage of something like $3.

Some prices are not better than OzGameShop, some might be, I honestly don’t care right now because I’m wallowing in the depression that is Internode got bought out by iiNet.

So Harveys fancy new slightly better priced website is super long and is is is: http://www.harveynormandirectimport.com/

And just for shits and giggles OzGameshop is: www.ozgameshop.com

Personally, I buy from whatever is the cheapest. Zavvi, Play-Asia, OzGameshop, whatever. Usually the shipping takes a long time. But at least you save yourself money. Play-Asia fortunately has choices, I usually ship via FedEx, and still save myself a healthy amount. In the process, Play-Asia gives you coupons with literally (really) every order for $5 off. Last time I got a sticker. Yes it’s awesome.

So there you have it. A shitty article, in my usual style.

Batman: Arkham City. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations

First off, I apologise. I’m still playing through these. But I will review them.

I for one am terribly excited for Revelations, which is on it’s way to my doorstep. I should get it this week. In the meantime I get to play Batman Arkham City lots.
And by lots I mean I’ll have to replay it every single time it decides to wipe my save games. I’ve had it happen twice already now, so, so depressing.

I’m still baffled as to why Rocksteady haven’t fixed it within the first week of it being released. I mean seriously, it took 2 weeks to get to me from the UK.

If it wipes my save again, I’ll burn it, then post it to Rocksteady and ask very nicely for a refund.

Though so far, the game is pretty good. But I haven’t played it all.

As for Revelations, I hope it isn’t the last game in the franchise. Though I probably am wishing for too much at this point. A lot of people aren’t too happy with the fact it’s much of the same old. It’s a decent finish to the story of Ezio – this much I do know. But I really do like the series.

Apart from those 2 games, I myself scored a beta to TOR, like everyone else – it’s a weekend test. This is another game I have a hard-on for, despite the graphics not being too orgasmic (i.e BF3).

Now in other news, Intel’s 2011 CPU’s are listed in a few stores. The 3960X going for $1,249 at one particular store. I’m tossing up whether to spend spare money on a generator. Or just blow it all on an upgrade.
Yes, I need a generator as unfortunately I run a business and need to have access to the Internet everywhere I go. Having an Internet aerial in itself doesn’t exactly allow me to run my laptop 24/7. And the bastard thing takes 165 watts, :HP:.
