The Kings Speech Movie Review

The Kings Speech movie is brilliant. It’s a movie of tests, and success of the hardship of King George VI.

King George VI (played by Colin Firth) has a stammer, throughout this movie is his attempts to rid himself of this annoying speech impediment. The movie opens up with The Duke of York (George VI) making a Christmas speech, to which he fails miserably.

To help rid himself, or at least lower the stammer, enlists the help of Lionel Logue (played by Geoffrey Rush). And must I say that his first speech of wartime (and the end of the movie) goes without a hitch.

I cannot go into detail without giving spoilers. But let me say that the movie is not all about his impediment.

It shows his family, the Queen Mother and their two children, Elizabeth II, and Margaret. As well as the other lot, such as his father, and brother – who abdicated to marry a divorcee.

It’s the story of King George VI, his unexpected ascension to the throne and much more.

I highly recommend this movie for all. A movie for all ages.

Don’t let the title fool you. It isn’t boring, it’s brilliant.

10/10
